HP. Again i would like to acknowledge the professionalism that has continually applied to your channel. Audio quality second to none . Guitar lessons second to no one. Consistency second to none. I took up electric guitar around 5 years ago and from not knowing the difference of a d string to a, b string. Sometimes we forget the quality that's served up to us in your formated lessons FREE. Im an old guy now and just play to hear the tone of my guitar, well the tone i am headed for. haha. But i felt compelled to write this as another thank you HP.

Hi can you help me understand something? I dont use any pedals, just a guitar and an amp. When I play low notes, everything is great. But when I try to play high notes especially on top E and B strings, the sound is very soft and there is no sustain. I try to adjust my pickups so that they can be closer but it's still not what I want. A very short note and weak note is heard. I try pressing down hard but it's no use. I want to get a strong, loud tone that is as loud as the other GDAE strings. I tried to use a delay pedal, humbucker, p90, single coil, strat, les paul, 335, telecaster, it is still not as strong a sound like yours in the high notes. The other notes are ok but once I play the high notes, they are short and soft, and not full sounding. I know you said that using vibrato will help. But even in the video when you did not use vibrato the basic sound of the high notes are loud and last some time. What am I doing wrong? Thank you.

Right then. I've been playing for years, I play in a band - strumming and singing. I've slowly learned my way through the fretboard, I can play every scale in every position and can play scale runs all over the fretboard, I know shed loads of chords, I know what follows what and what goes where. I can play lots of songs and I even write my own which seem to go down well. But then when I go to the local guitar group I can't actually really play a thing and there's always some guy impressing everyone with his loud, cool sounding licks. But I've been listening and I started getting the idea that these guys tend to play the same cool sounding licks over just about everything? Then I came across this video and it's all starting to click. I wish I'd learned this in lesson one! Thanks.
